Behind the Mic | The Return Series

What Stayed With Me

I thought Katie Ruffino and I were going to talk about food.

We did.

But what stayed with me wasn't food.

It was trust.

As Katie talked about the patterns that quietly shape our lives, I found myself thinking about how often we already know what we need...we've just learned not to listen.

We know when we're exhausted.

We know when something doesn't feel right.

We know when we've said yes but wanted to say no.

We know when we're running on empty.

Yet somewhere along the way, many of us became so good at pushing through that we stopped trusting the very voice that was trying to protect us.

Katie said something that I haven't been able to shake.

Your body isn't working against you.

It's communicating with you.

The more I thought about it, the more I realized that maybe it isn't just our bodies communicating.

Sometimes our hearts are trying to get our attention too.

What Stayed With Me

One thought kept echoing in my mind:

Healing isn't always about learning something new.

Sometimes it's about remembering what we've known all along.

That's what Delay the Binge™ has always meant to me.

The pause isn't there to magically create wisdom.

The pause is there to give us enough space to hear the wisdom that's already been whispering beneath the noise.

Katie reminded me that self-trust isn't something we earn.

It's something we return to.

And perhaps that's why this season is called The Return.

Not because we're becoming someone new...

But because we're finding our way back to the person we were created to be.

One Question Before You Go

Where in your life have you stopped trusting yourself?

And what might change if you paused long enough to listen again?

Build momentum.
Finish stronger.
